Requirements

Expedition: Baja Siesta - Requirements:

Expedition: Baja Siesta is not as fast paced as our Raptor runs. That said a solid suspension setup is highly required. We recommend a 2.5" diameter shock with reservoir or larger. A Jeep, Tacoma, or F250 with stock shocks would not be happy with the pace we carry. A stock Raptor or Bronco will be just fine. If you have any questions feel free to email us at info@expeditionxoffroad.com Below are our general requirements. There are exceptions so please contact us if you have any questions.

  •  33" tires for small/midsize trucks or suv's and 35" tires for full size trucks/suv's.

  • 4x4 is strongly recommended but a 2wd will most likely be fine on most of our adventures. Contact us to confirm. Depending on the route we have planned for a tour 4x4 maybe a hard requirement...most of the time it is not.

  • 1 full-size spare tire

  • GPS - Apps like motion x, back country navigator, Gaia, LeadNav will work just fine. We prefer to use Lowrance GPS'. If you use an app, just make sure you are familiar with it and now how to operate it. There are some many options out there so we may not be familiar with how to operate the app you have chosen to use.

Raptor/Prerunner Expedition requirements:

A stock Raptor will do just fine on any of our trips! We allow all capable trucks. We do ask that your truck be modified to the performance level of a stock Raptor and in working order. For example, a Silverado or Tundra upgraded with bypass shocks would be fine on most of our excursions. We also recommend some sort of bump stop kit to prevent frame damage should you get a little carried away on the trail. Please contact us if you have any questions.

  • 50 watt vhf radio - programmed with Weatherman (151.625). If possible BFG Relay (151.715).

  • GPS - Preferably lowrance. If you don’t have a lowrance let us know and we can figure something out.

  • 1 and preferably 2 full size spares - flats happen all the time in the desert and you don’t want to have to call it a day if you get just one. Several times we’ve had someone get 2 flats.

  • Auxiliary lighting - we often find ourselves driving at night in the middle of the desert and stock lights won't suffice.

  • ALL maintenance done and truck running in good working order. If you have a small problem with your truck it almost always becomes a big problem on the trail.

Bronco Expedition requirements:

- Our Bronco adventures are not as fast paced as our Raptor runs. That said a solid suspension setup is highly recommended. We recommend the equivalent of stock Sasquatch package Bronco. So for non-sasquatch Bronco's a 1-2" lift with 35 inch tires are recommended (off-road rated tires are required). A stock Bronco with Sasquatch package will be just fine.

-  full-size spare tire

-  VHF Radio 50-Watt or greater (weatherman frequency 151.625)

-  GPS chart plotter

-  Basic tools and recovery gear (Strap, shackles, jack, etc)

Overland Expedition requirements:

Our Overland adventures are not as fast paced as our Raptor runs. That said a solid suspension setup is highly recommended. We recommend a 2.5" diameter shock with reservoir or larger. A Jeep, Tacoma, or F250 with stock shocks would not be happy with the pace we carry. A stock Raptor will be just fine. Driver expectations:

  • Most importantly - a great attitude!

  • Level headed driving - Our runs are not races. We expect you to obey all speed limits and drive at a safe and reasonable speed based on conditions.

  • Failure to meet these expectations will result in you being asked to leave and will not be invited to participate in any of our future events.
